Wear & Care FAQs
Why do you use 100% woven cotton?
Because it’s better—for your skin, your body, and the planet.
Woven cotton is breathable, hypoallergenic, and free from synthetics. It doesn’t trap sweat, cling weirdly, or leach microplastics. It softens with time and feels like a real garment, not a plastic bag.
Bonus? Natural fibers like cotton have been linked to lower stress and better rest. Comfort isn’t just a feeling—it’s a fact
What’s the importance of small batches?
We’re not fast fashion. Small batch = less waste, handmade quality, and limited edition prints that feel more personal. It lets us stay creative and careful—two things we really care about.
Who makes Woven Weekend pieces?
Our garments are thoughtfully made by a small, family-run studio in India with years of textile expertise. Nothing is mass-produced - your garment passes through human hands, not a factory conveyor belt.
We’ve chosen to work with skilled makers who are paid fairly and treated with respect, and we’ve personally spent time on the ground building those relationships. That’s part of what makes Woven Weekend feel like more than just clothes.
Will my Woven Weekend pieces shrink?
Because our pieces are made with 100% natural cottons, some shrinkage is expected. Here’s what you can count on:
- If you wash in cold water and air-dry (no heat): shrinkage is minimal—usually 1–2%—just enough to let the fabric soften and settle without changing the fit.
- If you use heat drying (warm or hot): expect about 3–5% shrinkage after the first wash, which can make the garment feel up to a size smaller over time.
How to order with this in mind:
- Plan to air-dry? Order your true size.
- Prefer the ease of machine drying on warm or hot? Consider sizing up for the fit you want after shrinkage.
To keep your fit true:
- Wash in cold water
- Hang or lay flat to dry
- If you prefer machine drying, use the air dry setting.
How should I wash my garments?
- Machine wash cold with like colors
- Mild detergent
- No bleach or fabric softener
- Hang dry or tumble on low
- Iron if needed (or don’t—it’s leisurewear)
Can I put it in the dryer?
Yes, but low heat is safest, and removing garments while slightly damp helps keep shape and size. For the longest life and truest color, hang drying is best.
What about wrinkles and stains?
- Wrinkled? Steam, warm iron, or rock the lightly wrinkled weekend look.
- Stained? Spot-treat with mild soap or baking soda paste.
- Oil or food? Use cornstarch or baking soda to absorb first, then wash.
Do I need to wash before I wear?
Not required, but recommended. A first wash softens the fabric and rinses out any residual dye. If you’re sensitive or want peak cozy, go ahead and give it a rinse before its debut.
What if the measurements don’t fit me quite right?
Every body is different—and we get that. All of our pieces are designed to be roomy and relaxed, but if you’re unsure, check our size guide or reach out. If your item doesn’t fit the way you hoped, we’ll gladly help you exchange it for a better size if it’s in stock.
Will the color & print look exactly like the photo?
We shoot everything in as much natural light as possible for accuracy, but screen settings vary. Expect minor variations in color or tone—each piece is unique, just like you.
And please note that because we work with a lot of boldly printed fabric, the placement may differ slightly from piece to piece, adding to the charm and individuality of each item.
What’s your return or exchange policy?
